The physical geography in Southern Africa is varies greatly. When traveling in Southern Africa you would come across rivers, deserts and dry climates, pans, velds, plateaus and escarpments. In Southern Africa there is a river called the Okavango River. Did you know that this river's water never reaches the ocean? Instead, it make a nice home for crocodiles, zebras, lions, leopards, elephants, baboons and antelopes. Even though Southern Africa has rivers, it has a lot of dry land too. The driest part of this region is the Namib Desert. There are also many minerals found in Southern Africa. Southern Africa produces the world's most gold. It also produces diamonds, copper, platnium, uranium, copper, coal, and iron ore.
